a.Monti (they/them) is a trans-disciplinary poet, educator and translator, currently based between Berlin (GER) and Brooklyn (US).

Monti’s projects alternate between publishing, performance, pedagogy, sound and collaboration — they are dedicated to writing as a social activity, using poems as a technology of attention and encounter.

They are an Associate Editor at Litmus Press, Brooklyn and hold an MFA in Writing from the Pratt Institute, New York. Monti has taught seminars and workshops on performance writing, poetry and experimental sound work; they have presented their work in the United States, Europe, United Kingdom and in Turkey, including at The Poetry Project St. Marks, Institute of Contemporary Art London, CUNTemporary London and The Austrian Cultural Forum. Their writing can be found at The Offing, McSweeney’s, ExBerliner and Montez Press Radio.

Monti works with English, German and Italian and is currently translating and editing a selection of contemporary queer Italian poetry.
